Jacey's Dream Homes

I've always been interested in home design.  I remember when I was in Junior High, I drew out a floor plan of my dream home of the moment.  My dreams have changed some, and I've also realized that there are a few different dream homes altogether.  And each of them would be located in different areas of the world.

A home in the forest:

You may recognize this home from the movie "Twilight".  I love all the windows.  I am a big fan of letting as much light as possible in, and I love floor to ceiling windows.  I also love the secluded area this home is in, with nature all around you.  I dislike suburbs...how all houses look the same and are squished together.  I can tell you one thing for certain, my dream home would not be located in a Canadian suburb.  I also love the bathroom of this home.  It lets in some great light, and I love the open shower concept.  And of course, the tub looks nice and big.  Just perfect for bubble baths :)

A townhouse or loft in NYC or Europe

I love old buildings.  And I love when old building are turned into studio/loft apartments.  And I would love to have a library in my home.  With a window seat and a fireplace perhaps...ahhh...  A rooftop patio with a pool would be pretty darn cool too.  I don't think I would ever live in NYC, but my ultimate dream is to live in Europe...perhaps in France.

P.S.I have some better pictures of more European looking lofts, but they won't all download on Blogger right now, so I'll have to add some more later on.

A Victorian Home

I love the home from the movie Stepmom.  I think it's the perfect family home, complete with wrap around porch.  I also like that it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city.  If I was planning on settling down and raising a family, I think a house like that would be perfect.  It's so cute and cozy.  I love the character of these homes.

If you want to check out an amazing architect click here.  My friend Stephanie, who is doing her Masters in Architecture in Copenhagen, introduced me to his work.  I love it.

  1. Brilliant. I'm loving the feeling of space the windows bring and the colors that are brought in. A true testament to the importance of natural light. Ahh stepmom! A classic film!
